This article from the New York Times says it better than I could:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/26/technology/internet/26twitter.html
Teens are NOT using Twitter, for the most part, and Facebook has been taken over by people my age! I am still resistent to Twitter for the same reason as quoted in the article:
"I just think it’s weird and I don’t feel like everyone needs to know what I’m doing every second of my life".
I agree, Twitter has never been on my radar. At ALA most of the sessions had tweeters but when i went back and read what they wrote it didnt make sense to me even when i had been at the session. Those sessions that i left early and went back to follow the tweeta did not allow me to follow the conversation. Most went along the lines of .. blah blah is presenting on topic A, now blah blah is presenting on topic B. Not helpful to facilitating a conversation...
ReplyDeleteExactly. I"ve always thought of twitter as the equivalent of a cb radio>
